How much alcohol is in beer?

The ethanol content of beer depends on the volume of the serving and the ABV, i.e. the percentage of alcohol by volume. The name of the style alone does not specify the exact concentration.

Examples of servings

At 5% alcohol, 330 ml of beer contains approximately 13.0 g of ethanol and 500 ml contains approximately 19.7 g. Two identical half-liter beers have a total of approximately 39.5 g.

Gradation is not ABV

When calculating, use the alcohol percentages listed on the label. The designation of the degree of beer is not the same as the percentage of alcohol by volume.

One beer does not have a universal blood alcohol concentration (‰)

The grams of ethanol in a beverage can be calculated directly. In addition, blood level estimation needs body parameters and time; the actual course remains individual.
